Important Notice for customers in the US and EU countries

Recent changes to international shipping and import procedures have affected orders from the UK to both the United States and the European Union.

Orders to both the United States and the European Union now require the use of Royal Mail’s Postal Delivery Duties Paid (PDDP) service. For US orders, this covers import tariffs and handling charges. For EU orders, it covers import VAT and customs handling charges.

Unfortunately, these charges cannot currently be calculated automatically through my website, so I am unable to accept direct online orders from customers in these countries. However, I can still process orders manually using the procedures described below. I do not profit from these charges. In fact, the new procedure requires a significant amount of my time which I do not charge for 🙂

🇺🇸 United States

New import requirements

As of February 2026, the United States applies a 10% import tariff to all goods imported from the UK and has removed the previous tax-free threshold for small parcels.

To ensure your order is delivered directly to your door without delays or additional charges on delivery, I prepay the required import tariff and customs fees using Royal Mail’s Postal Delivery Duties Paid (PDDP) service.

How to order

Please email me (steve@trick-dice.com) or use the Contact page with the following information:

  • The dice you would like to purchase
  • Your full name
  • Your delivery address
  • Your telephone number (required by the carrier)

I will then:

  1. Calculate the total cost of your order.
  2. Add 10% to the value of the goods to cover the US import tariff.
  3. Add a flat charge of £15 to cover tracked airmail postage, customs handling and Royal Mail administration fees.
  4. Email you a PayPal invoice showing the total amount due.

Once payment has been received, I will dispatch your order immediately. Delivery to most US destinations normally takes around one week.

🇪🇺 European Union

New import requirements

As of 1 July 2026, Royal Mail requires import VAT and customs handling charges to be calculated before dispatch for shipments to the European Union.

Because these charges vary according to the destination country, local VAT rate, customs handling fees and the value of the order, they cannot currently be calculated automatically through my website. As a result, EU orders must now be processed manually.

What will it cost?

The exact shipping and import charges vary depending on your country, the value of your order and your local VAT rate, so I need to obtain an individual quotation from Royal Mail before I can send you an invoice.

As an example, an order for £51 shipped to Italy (where the VAT rate is 22%) incurred:

  • £9.90 tracked postage
  • £16.96 import charges (including VAT and customs handling)

Total additional charges: £26.86

If your country’s VAT rate is lower than Italy’s 22%, your import charges will generally be lower. If it is higher, they will generally be higher.

How to order

I will then:

  1. Enter your order into Royal Mail’s shipping system.
  2. Calculate the exact cost of postage, import VAT and customs handling charges.
  3. Email you a full cost breakdown showing:
    • the cost of the dice
    • Royal Mail postage
    • import VAT and customs handling charges
  4. Send you a PayPal invoice for the total amount.

Once payment has been received, I will purchase the shipping label and dispatch your order.

Minimum order value

Because every EU order must now be processed manually, the minimum order value is £50 (excluding postage and import charges). This minimum helps offset the considerable amount of manual processing required and allows me to continue supplying customers throughout the European Union.
